Pleased with the result! More light without having to add anything. Good times. (Left is original, right is LED)

Edit: Brake lights.  Reversing lights... it’s been a long week.

This is the correct first step for anyone who wants to smoke their tail lamps.

Aren’t those supposed to be the reverse lights?

Clear lenses and such:

Philips and Sylvania make swap-in LED bulbs for most automotive applications aside from headlights. I wouldn’t recommend LED bulbs in headlights as they are too dazzling to oncoming drivers, but LEDs in most other applications seem to work fine. I know Phillips sells street legal brake light LED bulbs now (I have some on my 2009 Accent hatch).

As for your swap Akio, they do make a big difference! I see nothing wrong with them for reverse light, tail or turn signal use as they won’t really dazzle other drivers in those uses. I have LED rear brake lights, license plate lights and reverse lights on my car from Philips! I swapped the reverse bulbs because the LEDs were brighter and the pure whiter light actually makes it a little easier to see when I’m backing up. I swapped the tails because LEDs light up MUCH more quickly than conventional incandescent bulbs and in an emergency, giving other drivers any extra notice (even if it is hundredths of a second) you are hitting the brakes hard can make a big difference...also they were brighter than the original incandescent bulbs as well without being blinding, so anything to further help get the attention of whoever behind me is a plus! I swapped the side marker bulbs because the original incandescents worked, but the amber coating was actually flaking off of them so they were more white light than amber - the LED bulbs in the same size were at the Autoparts store from Sulvania so I thought I would give them a shot! I swapped the license plate bulbs because one of mine had burned out and I saw them at the store for the same price as incandescents so figured I’d give them a shot too! :)

As it currently looks with the LED bulbs (minus the reverse lights)!

Been meaning to do something similar with my reverse lights to help my backup camera at night, but ... lazy.

This is what I get for posting right before bed.

See the joke was that in Oklahoma brake lights are white because... yeah I got nothing.  Oops.
